ブルー・ノート東京で行なわれたSTAX! featuring スティーヴ・クロッパー、ドナルド“ダック”ダン＆エディ・フロイド公演で来日していたドナルド“ダック”ダンが今朝方、東京で亡くなったという。スティヴ・クロッパーが自らのFacebookで伝えている。

「Today I lost my best friend, the World has lost the best guy and bass player to ever live. Duck Dunn died in his sleep Sunday morning May 13 in Tokyo Japan after finishing 2 shows at the Blue Note Night Club.」

ドナルド“ダック”ダンはブッカー・T＆ジ・MGズやブルース・ブラザーズ・バンドを初めとしてセッション・ミュージシャンとして活躍し、ボブ・ディラン、エリック・クラプトン、トム・ペティなど、数多くの第一線のミュージシャンと共演。日本では忌野清志郎とも共演していた。
