本日1月10日はデヴィッド・ボウイの2度目の命日であり、2日前の1月8日はボウイの71回目の誕生日であった。

そんな今日、ボウイを偲びつつ今から21年前の1997年1月9日に、ボウイの50歳を祝してマディソン・スクエア・ガーデンにて開催されたバースデー・ライブのフル映像を改めて「Consequence of Sound」が掲載している。

同ライブには、ボウイ本人はもちろん、ビリー・コーガン、ロバート・スミス、フー・ファイターズ、ソニック・ユース、フランク・ブラック、ルー・リードらが出演。

ボウイは出演したアーティストとともに自身の楽曲やヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンドのカバーなどを披露している。
