同イヴェントのクリエイティヴ・ディレクターを務めたのは映画監督のスパイク・ジョーンズで、司会はコメディ俳優のジェイソン・シュワルツマンが担当した。授賞式は脚本無しで進行し、アーケイド・ファイアやレディー・ガガもパフォーマンスを披露している。
