3月10日の予約受付開始とともに即完売となっていたオアシスのデモ・カセットのレプリカ版『Original 1993 Demos』（D2C Cassette）が、数量限定でソニーミュージックショップに再入荷した。

このデモ・カセットは、デビュー当時わずか8本しか制作されていない幻のアイテムで、バンドの1993年から1997年までを振り返る「チェイシング・ザ・サン」プロジェクトの一環としてレプリカ化され、4月22日に発売されたもの。“ロックンロール・スター”、“コロンビア”、“ブリング・イット・オン・ダウン”など計8曲がデモ・カセットの音のまま収録され、バンド手書きの「OASIS」というラベルも再現されており、日本ではソニーミュージックショップのみでの販売となる。

デビュー・アルバム『オアシス』のプロデューサー、マーク・コイルは当時を振り返り、デモ・カセットのライナー・ノーツに以下のように記している。

「曲をカセット用にマスタリングする、そんな時代だった。原型のまま作られた最終ミックスのテープのコピーはわずか8本。1本持っているという方は嘘つきである。私のカセット・ボックスは空っぽで、テープがなくなってしまって久しいのだから。残りが最終的にどこに行きついたかは神のみぞ知る。」

なお、「チェイシング・ザ・サン」プロジェクトの第一弾『オアシス』20周年記念盤は、日本先行で今月5月14日に発売となる。
