ザ・キラーズが11月11日にキャリア初のベスト・アルバムとなる『Direct Hits』をリリースすると発表した。

全15曲が収録される本作には2曲の新曲“Just Another Girl”と“Shot At The Night”も収録されるという。

“Just Another Girl”ではバンドと長年コラボレートしているスチュワート・プライスがプロデュースを務めている。

一方の“Shot At The Night”のプロデューサーはM83のアンソニー・ゴンザレスで、同曲は11月4日にシングル・リリースされる。

また、『Direct Hits』のデラックス盤には“Mr Brightside”のデモ・ヴァージョン、“When You Were Young”のカルヴィン・ハリスのリミックス・ヴァージョン等も収録されるという。

ブランドン・フラワーズは『Direct Hits』について「このレコードを出すことは、全てを心機一転させて次のステージに進むために最良の方法だったんだ」と語っている。
